How Raptors plan to honour Vince Carter this season. It’s not just retiring his number

The first jersey number retired by the Raptors will be raised Nov. 2 when they host DeMar DeRozan and the Sacramento Kings.

The first jersey number to be retired by the Raptors will be raised to the Scotiabank Arena rafters Nov. 2, and be part of what will amount to a season-long celebration of Vince Carter during the team’s 30th season.

The honours begin Friday with a rededication of the basketball court in Dixon Park in Etobicoke, opened in 2003 and funded jointly by the then-Raptors Foundation and Carter’s Embassy of Hope.
